America, Tennessee

To tell you the truth I've been contemplating how to write about my trip to America, Tennessee. Then I thought, I'm just going to jot down, like a diary, how I felt when I visited and what it was like so, here goes!

First Stop- Little Rock:
View from Little Rock hotel room
To be completely honest this was just an over night stop, the only parts I saw were the inside of Embassy Suite Hotels. Which really was not very exciting and the the view from my window which... was nothing special.

Second Stop - Nashville:
Broadway Street- Nashville
Grand Ole Opry
Since hearing that Taylor Swift's music career really began here in Nashville I have wanted to come. Country music is one of my favourite genres of music, so to see the place that really made it big, made me excited and I could't wait. When we arrived we had a look around Broadway Street, which is the main music area. To be honest I was disappointed, it was not what I expected. I of course knew that Nashville was a city, so I knew that there would be skyscrapers and city like feature to it, but somewhere deep down I thought that it would resemble New Orleans more, brick buildings, little town character and more like a large town, but no. Its a modern, up to date city with bright neon signs lining Broadway. The actual street is small with not much to see and as I'm under 21 I was not allowed inside the bars, that had live music. The live music though, you could still hear and appreciate outside. It was weird standing in the middle of Broadway street listening, because you had a mix of all of this country music coming from the bars! In the evening we had already planned to go to the Grand Ole Opry at the Ryman, which was quite amazing, all I could think was what a great honour it must be to play there... I guess I think that's when you know that you've really made it as a country music star!

We couldn't go to Nashville without seeing the Country Music Hall Of Fame Museum, so that's what we did! I saw everything! And I loved it, I can't really explain it but its a must see!

Last Stop on the list- Memphis... Graceland:
I wasn't a big fan of Elvis Presley before I went to Graceland and I'm still not a fan of his music now but I definetly have a different view of him. When we visited his house (Graceland) we had an audio tour, his house wasn't big compared to how much money he must of had. The upstairs of Elvis Presley's is not open to visitors but what we saw was unusual, he designed the décor in the rooms himself and lets just say I wouldn't have chosen it! Even if your not a fan of Elvis Presley or have absolutely no knowledge about him, its worth going! I actually felt quite touched by what he did, he was very generous to anyone that needed his help. Graceland is not a place which you should bypass.
